... so why am I getting a completely daft urge to write Shakespearean comedy / Golden Age mystery AU fic with Benedick and Beatrice as proprietors of Messina's first detective agency? Particularly when I haven't got an actual plot?

I think it would probably be an awesome idea if someone other than me were to write it, or if I were not desperately barren of invention and deserted by the Muses right now. And if I did not have to read a bunch of Serious Literary Novels and Poems for this panel I'm supposed to be moderating the weekend after next.

This sounds like an awesome idea that needs to sit, percolating a bit...so you can read your Serious Literary Novels and Poems....and then come back to it. Because, Beatrice, would totally solve all the crimes!
