I'm afraid this is more of a short epilogue than a proper chapter, but at least I finished it! Prior installments can be found here.

Act 5: Explanations )

Finally got back to this (not coincidentally, I'm teaching R&J at the moment and feeling the need to give them a happy ending). Prior installments of the Half-Blood Prince of Denmark saga are here.

Dialogue is from Act 5, Scene 3 of Romeo and Juliet, except where it isn't. Also, Romeo totally needs a sassy lesbian friend.

Act Four: Graves, Yawn and Yield Your Dead )
a_t_rain: (wereflamingo)
At last. See here if you want to catch up on past events. Plus, this installment has bonus Hamlet / Ophelia!

Act Three: The Watchers )
a_t_rain: (wereflamingo)
In which Severus and Helena begin to investigate Juliet's death, and discover some interesting things about Friar Laurence. See here for the first installment of "Four Funerals and a Wedding," and here for the entire saga.

Act Two: The Nurse and the Friar )

At last, the long-delayed third installment of the Daftest Crossover Ever. Parts One and Two are here. Basically, what you need to know is that a young Severus Snape has drunk a Plothole-Plugging Potion, landed in the sixteenth century, and is now happily wandering around Europe saving characters in various Shakespeare plays from themselves. In the last installment, he met Helena, a young French witch who is now definitely NOT in love with Bertram, and Diana, a Florentine who invited him along to Verona for her cousin Juliet's wedding.

Summary: Snape meets Romeo and Juliet. (Almost) everybody lives.

Four Funerals and a Wedding, Act One )

Whew. Yes, I actually do finish stories every now and then. Previous installments are here. In particular, you might want to look over Chapter 3 if you've forgotten about the rules established for the use of magic carpets.

Act Five: Flight of the Prince )

Author's Notes )
a_t_rain: (Default)
Prior installments of the HP / Shakespeare crossover saga are here.

The dialogue between Helena and the innkeeper is abridged from All's Well that Ends Well, 3.5; Bertram's letter and the pseudo-foreign babble in the last scene are likewise taken word for word from the play. I take full blame for everything else, including doing unspeakable things to Greensleeves.

Act Three: At the St. Francis )

Wherein I get tired of wrestling with a story that has grown far more serious and more complicated than it has any actual right to be, and post it anyway. The rest of the saga is here.

Act Two: Helena de Narbonne )

So, yeah. I have absolutely NO BUSINESS mocking other people's summaries, because I've been writing more Harry Potter / Shakespeare crossover fic.

Title: Severus, Half-Blood Prince of Denmark, and the French Physician

Rating: PG-ish, at most

Summary / Author's Notes: This is a sequel to The Lamentable Comedy of Severus, Half-Blood Prince of Denmark, a.k.a. the Daftest Crossover AU Ever. For those who haven't read the original (or would like a quick refresher), Severus Snape drinks a Plothole-Plugging Potion and gets transported to Elsinore during Act II of Hamlet. Despite various misunderstandings, he manages to save the lives of most of the characters through his quick thinking and skill with antidotes.

Severus is now court wizard to King Hamlet, but he has much to learn about life in sixteenth-century Europe. After another ill-fated fencing match, a mysterious French doctor turns up at Elsinore, setting off a chain of events that will take Severus to Florence and land him in trouble with the International Confederation of Wizards.

Act One: Hamlet II )

Whew. I can't believe I started this back before Christmas, but at least I finished it in time for it to count as Shakespeare's birthday fic.

Previous installments are here

Epilogue: Out of Time )

This is not quite the end. I suspect the epilogue will be long-ish.

Parts 1-4 are here

Act Five: Affairs from England )

Previous installments of my very silly HP / Hamlet crossover fic are here. Congrats to [livejournal.com profile] lareinenoire and [livejournal.com profile] themolesmother for correctly identifying the wizard at the Danish court. Special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] angevin2 for pointing out an interesting fact about the relative efficacy of masks and hats as disguises in Renaissance drama.

Act Four: Rosemary for Remembrance )

Parts One and Two are here. This chapter was a bear to write, in large part because Hamlet and Snape couldn't quite decide whether they wanted to be BFFs or sworn enemies. Most of the dialogue in the scene with Claudius is straight from the play; the final line is Shamelessly Ripped Off from Charles M. Schulz, as the utter randomness of it seemed to suit.

Lest anyone find Snape's reference to "playing Sherlock" too incongruous, I refer readers to [livejournal.com profile] dolorous_ett's delightful Sherlock Holmes and the Ravenclaw Codex, which suggests that Holmes may be just as well-known to wizards as Muggles. However, I have no good excuse for Hamlet's corkscrew, which is probably an anachronism.

Also, those who prefer their Shakesfic without random Harry Potter characters wandering through it should definitely check out this excellent ficlet about Poins, which [livejournal.com profile] angevin2 wrote for me.

Act Three: Sent Into England )
a_t_rain: (wereflamingo)
In which Severus forms his first impressions of the Danish royal family and draws some partially correct and partially erroneous conclusions about The Murder of Gonzago; and the story, rather improbably, acquires a plot.

Part One can be found here. About 85% of the dialogue in this section is Shakespeare's, rather than mine.

Act Two: The Murder of Gonzago )

Right, so I finally have a little writing time, so I thought I'd post the first installment of an extremely silly HP / Renaissance drama crossover crackfic. This was inspired by a dream I had a few years ago, in which I found the original manuscripts of a bunch of Shakespeare's tragedies, and Severus Snape was a character in all of them. He had to be edited out because he kept saving the day, whether with his encyclopedic knowledge of potions or his penchant for giving snarky-but-accurate advice, and preventing the tragic conclusion.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lareinenoire for allowing me to borrow the idea of Dumbledore sending young!Snape abroad to study with Dr. Faustus, which she originated in the fabulous Be All My Secrets Remembered. My own earlier take on Faustus' relationship to the wizarding world can be found here.

Naturally, this is about as AU as it gets.
