Halloween costume notes

Making a cork necklace is harder than it sounds. Should anybody else want to do this, the best way is to pierce the cork all the way through with a big tapestry needle, but it's almost impossible to get the eye of the needle all the way through through, so you have to go back with a smaller needle to thread the cork.

Trying to find a passably Ravenclaw-ish tie on the rack at Wal-mart is no picnic, either.
