So, Arizona
Feb. 18th, 2006 02:12 pmThis will have to be a quick update since I'm typing from a public access computer at the ASU library, but I'm enjoying the trip so far. It is SO pretty here (palm trees! and orange trees! And those big cacti with arms sticking out at perfect right angles!) and I got to meet
heartsncraftslb, who is just as much fun in person as she is on screen :)
The conference was kind of weird at first -- the only other ones I've been to before were little grad student affairs with lots of people from my department, and MLA, which has lots of people from everywhere, so it was odd being surrounded by senior professors and not knowing anybody to talk to. However, they had a bookseller exhibit with great discounts (I paid a total of $10.40 for the Atlas of the Medieval World and Historical Atlas of the Renaissance, total list price $70, so I'm quite happy).
Off to see the Grand Canyon tomorrow. Quite excited.
