As a life-long resident of Vancouver and volunteer at Bard on the Beach, it is my sworn duty to say, Don't go to Ontario! That's a bad province. It has Toronto and Ottawa, and Toronto has Leaf fans—which is code for the worst people to ever watch hockey, and, you know, breathe—and Ottawa has Stephen Harper, and he eats babies.
Okay, maybe it's not that bad, but for sure, BC is way cooler: we're chill here on the west coats of Canada. We have an ocean. And Whistler, which happens to be the greatest town ever, even if it is run by Intrawest.
