Dress robes ... well, robelike dress anyway -- check.

Hair in a bun -- check.

Squarish tabby-cat-striped spectacles -- check.

FictionAlley wristband -- Does not go with rest of costume, but check.

Pointy hat ... Um. I bought this hat for ninety-nine cents at Roses two Halloweens ago, and at the time it kept blowing off my head because the cloth was so light. Now it has a more serious problem. It refuses to stay pointy. The slightest breeze causes the cone to flop most pathetically. 'Tis a pitiful sight to behold.

They don't sell Viagra for hats, do they?

Oh well. If it looks really stupid I'll just leave the hat and glasses in the car, since everything else can pass for halfway normal attire and I'm beginning to feel like going into Borders in costume and without a kid is going to look completely stupid anyway. I don't suppose anybody has a ten-year-old they'd like to lend me for a couple of hours?

Um, I'm only up to chapter 10, and I swore I was going to read the rest in the morning -- but does this mean that exchange between Snape and Tonks means what I think it does??? Because if it does -- Oh. My. God.

Somehow I have a feeling I may not be sleeping much at all :)

Regardless, I think JKR has established beyond all doubt that Tonks has brains, character, and depth, which is enough to make me VERY happy just now.
