But, um ... isn't that a slightly odd choice of song for the occasion? (Then again, unemployment, alienation, and despair might be about accurate, these days...)
I dimly recall my own graduation. Many of us voted for Alice Cooper's "School's Out" for the song we would perform. We were outvoted by the sensible who considered themselves 'edgy' (see amanda fucking palmer for example) who voted for CSN's "Teach Your Children." I hate that song to this day. I won't say I've never been more disappointed but not often and not by much.
