In response to the question: "In your opinion, did Agamemnon deserve his fate?"

Realistically speaking, who kills someone under the pretense that the gods will bring favorable wind for their ship. Personally, I really enjoy sailing and even if I had no wind or wind in the wrong direction I would most certainly not kill someone even if it did bring favorable wind.

Good to know.

To be murder is not a good fate, especially by your spouse. Despite what domestic problems may arise, murder shouldn't be the solution.

Was there a minimum number of words? Because this, to me, from my own specific point of view, has the sound of someone who is (probably) trying to insert more clauses, or increase the number of words in their sentences, without regard or concern about whether those extra, or "superfluous," words or phrases is actually promoting or extending their meaning, or what they're trying to say. If you know what I mean.

No, but it's informal in-class writing with no time for revision or polishing, so I probably shouldn't poke fun (except it's so, so hard to resist).

Speaking as another sailor, I must say I wouldn't kill for favorable wind either - blackmail, or maim someone a little, perhaps, but not murder... I bet you're all reassured now, aren't you? And can I have an A+ now, please?

Here's my answer:

"I guess that's their culture, but how did he expect his wife to react?"

I think this person should be a marriage counselor. It's obvious s/he have the touch. I wonder what she'd say about Agamemnon murdering Ipigenia: "however bad you need to travel and get to a war to get back your brother's estranged wife, murder is NOT the answer."

*nods* Oh, definitely. You must admit that murder is a little extreme, and should be avoided if at all possible.
